On behalf of the members, friends, and staff of the Unitarian Church of Harrisburg, the Ministerial Search Committee extends a warm welcome and an invitation to learn about our wonderful spiritual community. UCH is a welcoming and vibrant congregation seeking to partner with a settled minister with both energy and vision to help us live our Unitarian Universalist principles both within and beyond our community. We are in a fifth year of interim ministry following the departure of our last settled minister, Rev. Howard Dana; this transitional interval followed a period of both innovation and conflict proceeding from the purchase and development of a second, urban campus in the city of Harrisburg. We have invested significant time, internal and external resources, and energy to recognize and resolve our conflicts through respectful engagement and creative problem solving. Our commitment to moving forward as one congregation with two campuses defines the starting point for the optimistic future we want to share with a settled minister who will help us continue to innovate and grow as individuals and as a community.
UCH continues to address the consequences of financial challenges incurred with the operation of two buildings and an extended period of uncertainty and interim ministry. A dedicated, passionate core of staff, lay leaders, and congregation members and friends recognize the abundant opportunities and potential of our church. We are committed to working with a minister whose experience and enthusiasm will guide and strengthen our efforts to realize that bright future.
